Davenport North is looking for more teams to join their "Life Is Bigger Than Sports" event.  This event raises money for the University of Iowa Dance Marathon (this past May we raised $3000). North's head coach David Gamble lost his oldest daughter to ovarian cancer in 2019, and has held this event that brings awareness to different cancers and/or illnesses that impact our communities (Teams have even worn alternative jerseys for the event). This event brings to light that although sports is an outlet that gives us a brief moment of reprieve from life's difficulties, we should always remember that life will always be bigger than the sports we love.  

This event will be held on Saturday May 4, 2024 at Davenport North and at Bettendorf high schools. One or two games available. There are a few Friday night games available if interested. If we can get more teams on the west and central part of Iowa, Waukee NW could host some games on that side of the state to help this event grow even bigger. There is free food and gifts for all players and coaches with a tailgate atmosphere.  (thank you HyVee).
